Renovated in 2006, this familiy-friendly ski hotel is on the site
of the oldest inn in the United Kingdom and comprises a total of 54
rooms. It is known that this spot has been in continuous use since
961 AD and has had a chequered history throughout the years. It is
certainly at the highest altitude, being just over 640 m above sea
level. Facilities on offer to guests include a lobby area with a
24-hour reception, a hotel safe, a cloakroom, a café, a bar and a
pub. It also offers a games room, a TV lounge and a restaurant.
There are conference facilities, and guests may also take advantage
of WLAN Internet access. Younger guests will enjoy the children's
playground.

All rooms have a direct dial telephone, timed heating and colour
TV. A hairdryer, shoe-cleaning equipment and an iron and ironing
board, for use in the bedroom, are available from reception.

This is the nearest hotel to the ski slopes with 30 pisted runs (45
km), 5 nursey areas and 26 uplifts. Glenshee is the largest ski
area in Britain and is the most hospitable and convenient place to
learn how to develop your skiing skill. Also in the area, guests
will find stalking, shooting, fishing, mountain biking, a
hang-gliding school and horse riding. It is also possible to enjoy
canoeing and archery. The nearest golf course, Dalmunzie, is just a
2-minute drive away.

there
Guests coming from Edinburgh should follow signs to Perth and then
to Braemar on the A93. The hotel is signposted on the left-hand
side, about 30 km north of Blairgowrie.
