Renovated in 2007, this charming beach resort and eco hotel brings
together the existing, unspoilt natural beauty of the surroundings
with its suites and villas under the theme of ?great outdoor
living'. All 83 rooms offer sea views, and guests have the choice
of 4 main types of room namely Beachfront Suites, Cottage Suites,
Tongsai Grand Villas and Tongsai Pool Villas. Splendidly located in
tranquil surroundings with its own private beach, the resort truly
embodies the perfect back to nature retreat with friendly staff and
the special advantage of being owner-managed. Facilities on offer
to guests include a lobby area with a 24-hour reception desk, a
hotel safe, a currency exchange facility, a café, a bar, a games
room and a TV lounge. Guests are offered a restaurant and Internet
access (for an additional fee) and they may also take advantage of
the room and laundry services (charges apply to both). There is
parking available for those arriving by car.
Rooms
All rooms feature a bath with a view, sun loungers and a
dining/writing table on the open-air terrace. The Tongsai Grand
Villas also have a gazebo where guests can sleep on in the open air
as well as a pantry-bar area. The Tongsai Pool Villas, moreover,
have their own 3 x 5 m private plunge pool on the terrace. All
accommodation also offers a private bathroom with a bathtub/shower,
a hairdryer, a direct dial telephone, satellite/cable TV and
Internet access. They also come equipped with a minibar, tea and
coffee making facilities, an ironing set and a king-size or double
bed. Furthermore, individually adjustable air conditioning and a
safe are provided in all accommodation as standard.
Restaurant & Food
Chef Chom's Thai Restaurant serves à la carte, buffet breakfast and
Royal Thai cuisine for dinner. Floyd's Beach Bistro offers
contemporary international cuisine, right on the beach, and is open
for lunch and dinner. The Butler's Restaurant serves predominantly
European cuisine in an intimate atmosphere and is open for dinner
only.
Activities & Sport
Guests can play tennis, use the gym or enjoy a dip in open-air
swimming pool with its sun loungers and parasols, and there is a
children's pool for the younger guests. Non-motorised water sports,
such as windsurfing, sailing and canoeing, are also offered. The
resort features a solarium and massage and spa treatments (charges
apply) at The Prana Spa, which specialises in relaxation techniques
whereby mind and body are synchronised, which can help control or
decrease the stress response. The Gala recreation room is a place
to hang out with its large TV screen, magazines, books, pool table,
table football and a DVD/VCD/CD library. The Santiburi golf course
is only 1.5 km away.
Comments
This resort has many steps and is therefore not ideal for guests
with disabilities. There is no 24-hour room service on offer. Only
children over 12 years are permitted to dine at The Butler's
Restaurant. Children under 14 years are not permitted to use the
half-moon swimming pool.
